Spryance, Inc. has acquired Heartland Information Services, Inc., which provides medical transcription services to hospitals and physician groups through work centers in Bangalore and Delhi, India, from HCR Manor Care, one of the nation’s leading providers of post acute medical care. Spryance shareholders include Beecken Petty O’Keefe & Company and the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group.

The combination creates the fourth largest medical transcription service organization in the United States and the market leader in offshore transcription, processing nearly 200 million lines annually. The companies complement each other with Heartland providing industry-leading quality and customer support and with Spryance providing capacity and scalability through its home-based MT force in India. Spryance also has quality assurance work centers in Chennai and Pune, India.

The company will be renamed Heartland Information Services, Inc., in recognition of Heartland’s market leading brand, and will be headquartered in Toledo, Ohio.
